In October of 2001, Coalition America, Inc. (CAI) signed a contract with SunGard eSourcing
to provide our company with Web co-location and hosting services,
high-availability Internet access and high-bandwidth networking,
and technology and systems management services for our applications
and data center outsourcing.
CAI has Recovery Services agreements to provide business
continuity services which includes desks, chairs, PCs, phones and fax machines
for workgroup recovery. Why do you need a Contingency Plan for Disaster
Recovery/Business Continuity? Computer system emergencies, such as power
outages, equipment failures and storms, can strike at any time. A Contingency
Plan for Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity is not only our best defense
to limit the negative effects on our business operations, but also a legal
requirement under HIPAA. Compliance requires regularly scheduled data backups,
availability of critical facilities for continuing operations, and established
disaster recovery procedures.
